Welcome to Pilates Today
Pilates is a form of precision exercise that balances strength with flexibility, increasing stamina and co-ordination. Focusing on natural movement patterns, it encourages the rebalancing of muscle groups, serving to bring the body into good postural alignment and allowing the body to function more efficiently.
Pilates is for everyone, whether young or old, first time exerciser or professional athlete. Practised regularly and correctly, Pilates will change the way you move, the way you feel and the way you look.
Joseph Pilates developed the ‘Pilates Method’ in the 1920's, combining several
movement disciplines and forms of exercise including yoga, martial arts, dance, gymnastics and boxing. The ‘Pilates Method’ is taught today in several forms, directly reflecting the legacy of Joseph Pilates. |
